Extra rail services for AC/DC concert
Extra train and tram services will be available after the AC/DC Black Ice Tour at Adelaide Oval tomorrow night. Trains with four and three cars will complement the regular Belair, Gawler, Noarlunga and Outer Harbor line services after 10:30pm until last service.

Train and tram services face major disruption when TransAdelaide maintenance workers take industrial action this week. Members of the Communications Electrical and Plumbing Union on Friday voted to endorse seven days of rolling stoppages and work bans from Thursday.

Adelaide’s public transport tickets will be replaced with a smartcard system – but not for another three years. Transport Minister Pat Conlon today announced the $30 million contract had been awarded for the ATLAS system, which would be introduced by 2013.

A man has died after being struck by a passenger train near Brighton station. The man, believed to be in his 60s, was hit as the train approached the station about 1.30pm. Police say there are no suspicious circumstances and that they are preparing a report for the coroner.

COMMUTERS can expect better scheduling of public transport services “early in the new year” because of a major overhaul in the management of the network. Transport Minister Patrick Conlon told The Advertiser the Government planned a “fundamental restructure” of public transport organisation, so buses, trams and trains operated under one umbrella.
