Public have their first ride on new tram extension

Commuters piled on to ride free trams to try the new Adelaide Entertainment Centre extension today. About 100 people departed the Entertainment Centre stop on Citadis 205, the first tram to carry public passengers along the extension, at 11:50am as part of a special community open day of the tram extension and the Entertainment Centre refurbishment.

Extra rail services for AC/DC concert

Extra train and tram services will be available after the AC/DC Black Ice Tour at Adelaide Oval tomorrow night. Trains with four and three cars will complement the regular Belair, Gawler, Noarlunga and Outer Harbor line services after 10:30pm until last service.

Old met new when H type tram 367 was trialled on the Adelaide Entertainment Centre tram extension last night. The tram was last in a fleet of seven as tests of the voltage supply at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre took place.

Tram line tests a success

Initial track testing of the Adelaide Entertainment Centre tram extension went well, government officials say. Citadis and Flexity Classic trams ran on the extension overnight and this morning with ride quality reported to be “very good”, Department for Transport, Energy and Infrastructure Bobbie-Jean Simons said.

Pay row hits trains, trams

Train and tram services face major disruption when TransAdelaide maintenance workers take industrial action this week. Members of the Communications Electrical and Plumbing Union on Friday voted to endorse seven days of rolling stoppages and work bans from Thursday.
