I am looking at getting a 18-200mm lens, what would be a good brand to get Cannon or Tamron

I believe that "Sigma" have a great range of zoom lenses now but i am not too sure about 18-200mm.
Many are now using "Sigma" as they are excellent performers and much cheaper than "Canon" or other high profile manufacturers.

I've used both the canon and the sigma lenses and out of the two, the performance of the canon product is significantly greater than the sigma. So, do you self a favour, spend the extra money and get a better product.

Certainly Canon is superior to Sigma but at five times the price they should be.The latest Sigma lenses for digital cameras are superior to the older style Sigma lenses from what i have seen.
Maybe shop around on photographic web-sites for a SH Canon lens or possibly Ebay.
Not too many around tho'

Good luck.
