Police rail against train surfing dill

A Hallett Cove man who caught a ride on the back of a train has been reported and fined by police.

The man, 22, was spotted by a commuter on the Noarlunga to Adelaide line climbing on to the outside of the Noarlunga bound train.

Police intercepted the train at Lonsdale Railway Station.

He was reported for riding illegally on the outside of the train and failing to validate a ticket and was fined a total of $900.

Police have issued a warning to commuters against dangerous behaviour on trains.

“Transit Services Branch uses a variety of methods to detect and apprehend offenders, including uniformed and plain-clothed officers and security cameras,” a police spokesman said.

Any illegal behaviour on trains should be reported to the police assistance line on 131 444.
