Suspicious package delays Noarlunga trains

Police bomb experts have cleared a “suspicious package” left on a train at Noarlunga station.

The parcel was noticed about 6.30pm when passengers were evacuated and the station locked down until police completed their investigation.

Police said at about 8.40pm the parcel had been x-rayed and was not an explosive device.

The parcel was apparently abandoned by a commuter.

“(We) remind the public to not leave property, bags or items unattended in public places,” a police spokeswoman said.

The station has been reopened to commuters after more than two hours.

TransAdelaide used minibuses to convey passengers from Lonsdale to Noarlunga while police completed their investigation.
