The Property Council of Australia says a light rail system should be constructed to connect central Adelaide to the airport. The council’s recommendations for Adelaide by 2036 also include extending tram routes around the western and eastern ends of Adelaide.

In his August letter to members, ARHS President Ben Greeneklee summarises the situation with loco 621 which has not operated with trains this year. Although mechanically quite sound, the loco requires some $80,000 to purchase and install new boiler tubes and flues.

It has completed 13 investigations into rail services to the Barossa Valley in the past five years, but will not release details of any of them.
