TRAMS will be running on the new Glenelg Tram Overpass within weeks. The 40m long overpass station platform will be lifted into place on Sunday and large panels forming lift shafts for the overpass will be put in place early next week.

TransAdelaide electricians who are upset over stalled wage negotiations have imposed work bans on a commissioning of Adelaide’s new tram fleet. The first of six Spanish trams has been delivered to the Glengowrie tram depot in Adelaide.

ADELAIDE’S new trams are being modified in Melbourne before going into service over Christmas and the New Year. Three of the trams, purchased in Europe, arrived on the docks in Melbourne this week. Three more will arrive next month in a $36 million international deal.

Rail work delays keep trams off peak-hour tracks

Original story THE trams will not run tomorrow morning after construction delays at the South Rd tram overpass. Substitute bus services that have been operating over the weekend will continue this morning and Adelaide Metro staff will be at all tram stops to direct passengers to the buses.
